dr minorJorge D. Minor, MD, FAAPM, Medical Director

Dr. Minor is the medical director at L.A. Pain & Wellness Institute, where our focus is to diminish pain and increase function. We achieve this by providing effective, state-of-the-art pain management techniques from multiple disciplines. Dr. Minor works with a multidisciplinary team that provides periodic evaluations of significant patient progress toward return-to-work or functional living and lifestyle goals.

Dr. Minor is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management and interventional pain medicine. He currently has privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital in Los Angeles. He earned his graduate medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed his postgraduate residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Additionally, Dr. Minor specializes in EMG/NCV, is a qualified medical examiner (QME) for the State of California and is an independent medical examiner (IME) as well as a medical expert witness for various legal cases. Dr. Minor is also past president of the California Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and is a member of the California Society of Industrial Medicine & Surgery.

dr boghossianRichard Boghossian, DC, Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Boghossian is the director of the LAPWI chiropractic program. He has vast experience in functional restorative medicine, having previously directed a functional restorative program (FRP) in the greater Los Angeles area prior to joining our multidisciplinary team in 2009. He performs functional capacity evaluations (FCE), chiropractic care and physical medicine. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and has over a decade of experience with a strong emphasis in orthopedics, FCEs, work hardening and conditioning and functional restoration programs. Dr. Boghossian focuses on treatments that help restore alignment, improve mobility, increase function and relieve pain and stiffness. He is a certified work conditioning and work hardening specialist and a Matheson-trained functional capacity evaluator (FCE). He is also certified by the State of California Division of Workers’ Compensation Medical Unit as a qualified medical evaluator (QME).

dr haghnazarianVictoria Haghnazarian, Psy.D, Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Haghnazarian is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing health psychology since 2006. She is the director of behavioral health at L.A. Pain & Wellness Institute. She has earned double bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from UC Irvine. Her desire to directly work with people to help them with their psychosocial issues led her to a master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant International University (California School of Professional Psychology). Dr. Haghnazarian has extensive training working with individuals with various chronic and acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. The majority of her clients have had dual diagnoses ranging from developmental disability and personality disorders to drug addictions. Her style of therapy, which includes providing suboxone treatment for opioid dependence, is client-centered where she helps her clients grow psychologically, gain good insight and achieve self-actualization. She helps her clients eliminate negative attitudes that block healing and wellness.

dr wynnJonesPatricia Wynn-Jones, MD, Anesthesiology

Dr. Wynn-Jones earned her MD from the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed her anesthesiology residency at UCLA. She believes the noblest thing you can do for another is to relieve pain. She believes that each person is already whole, perfect and complete. Your body, in its innate intelligence, presents symptoms to tell you where there are imbalances. Your body’s natural state of being is health. So she focuses on helping you achieve the life you want to live. Dr. Wynn-Jones hopes to empower patients to use their ability to heal and live their best lives.

dr krentzmanSteven Krentzman, BCB, Board-Certified Biofeedback Clinician, Senior Fellow

Steven has been involved in the health and fitness/wellness industry for more than 25 years as a board-certified biofeedback / biopsychosocial /neurofeedback clinician and certified fitness trainer. Mr. Krentzman founded the Sound Mind/Body Institute (SMBI) in 1990 for the purpose of training people to integrate the mind and body to promote emotional and physical healing and well-being. Steven is celebrating his tenth year with L.A. Pain & Wellness Institute.

MelodyMelody Schaff Abbene

Dr. Abbene is a licensed clinical health psychologist, specializing in the treatment of individuals living with chronic medical illness, disability, pain, or other physical concerns. She understands that issues within the body can greatly impact one’s sense of identity, and uses a collaborative approach to help patients restore a balance between body and mind. She believes that it is possible to live a meaningful life regardless of circumstances, and aims to support patients in achieving it. Additional clinical expertise includes treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorders, insomnia, substance use, and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Abbene received her doctorate training in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco, CA. She has trained in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health clinics, private practices, and home visits, conducting individual therapy, group therapy, evaluations, and consultations.
